Ranni Perunad Grama Panchayat 2025–26 Expenditure Statement: Summary
The expenditure statement for the financial year 2025–26 indicates that Ranni Perunad Grama Panchayat gave major emphasis to agricultural development, healthcare, housing, women and child welfare, social security, and the welfare of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
1. Agricultural Development Sector
Various schemes were implemented to promote agriculture:
- Financial assistance was provided for vegetable cultivation, banana cultivation, fruit farming, and ginger and turmeric cultivation.
- Subsidies were provided to agricultural workers through the Farmers’ Labour Force (Karshaka Karma Sena).
- Schemes such as “One Fruit Garden in Every Home” and “A Kitchen Garden for Better Health” were implemented.
- Hybrid coconut seedlings and fruit tree saplings were distributed.
Approximately ₹91 lakh was allocated for projects in this sector alone.
2. Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development
- An amount of ₹17 lakh was allocated for a cattle-rearing scheme for the Scheduled Caste community.
- A cattle-rearing project worth ₹10.20 lakh was implemented for the Scheduled Tribe community.
3. Health Sector
The Grama Panchayat attached significant importance to healthcare.
Major initiatives included:
- Palliative Care Programme.
- Distribution of medicines to senior citizens.
- Development of diagnostic facilities in healthcare institutions.
- Health and Wellness activities.
- Medical camps in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe colonies.
An amount of ₹8.5 lakh was allocated for the purchase of medicines for the Ayurveda Hospital.
The total project allocation for the health sector was approximately ₹29 lakh.
4. Housing and LIFE Mission
Housing was the largest expenditure sector during 2025–26.
Major schemes included:
- LIFE Mission Housing Scheme for the General Category.
- LIFE Mission Housing Scheme for Scheduled Castes.
- LIFE Mission Housing Scheme for Scheduled Tribes.
- House repair assistance schemes.
- Housing construction for the extremely poor.
More than ₹8.42 crore was allocated for the housing sector.
5. Women and Child Welfare
- Anganwadi Nutrition Programme.
- Provision of furniture, gas connections, and play equipment for Anganwadis.
- Scholarships for children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
- Activities of the Vigilance Committee.
- Assistance for students under the Block Resource Centre (BRC).
Approximately ₹77.85 lakh was allocated for this sector.
6. Social Security and Welfare
- Financial assistance to Senior Citizens’ Clubs.
- Shelter housing schemes for the destitute.
- Support for Kudumbashree enterprises.
- Promotion of women’s self-employment units.
